영어문법 제6장 기본동사와 동사구 동사는 영어의 골격이다. 우리말은 형용사만으로도 사물의 상태를 표현할 수 있을 만큼 동사 없이도 의사전달이 가능하지만, 영어는 어떤 문장이든 그것이 동작이든 상태이든 완전한 의사 전달을 하려면 반드시 동사가 있어야 하기 때문에 동사는 문의 주어와 함께 가장 중요한 요소가 되고 있다. 동사에 관해 주로 주의를 돌려야 할 사항은 시제(기본,완료,진행), 문형, 가정법, 수동태, 준동사 등 광범위하지만 이런 것들은 앞에서 대충 설명된 것으로 보고 여기에서는 구조, 형식과 아울러 내용 면에서 다른 품사어구와 관련된 동사구, 숙어 등을 alphabet 순으로 나열 설명함으로써 주요동사만이라도 해석과 관련하여 수시로 찾아보며 쉽게 익힐 수 있도록 하였다. 영어문법 제4장 관계사 구문 관계사는 우리말 어법에는 없는 문법용어이다. 대명사 혹은 부사의 역할을 대행하면서 접속사 역할을 하는, 일종의 특수 접속사이기 때문에 관계사는 영어 문장을 파악하는데 있어서는 가장 기본적인 문법사항중의 하나이다. 관계사에는 '접속사+대명사'의 역할을 하는 관계대명사(relative pronoun)와 '접속사+부사'의 역할을 하는 관계부사(relative adverb)가 있으며 그밖에 복합관계사 (whoever, whichever, whatever, whenever, wherever, however 등)가 있다. 영어문법 제2장 동사의 표현형태 [1. 완료시제의 용법] 영어에서는 기본시제와 함께 완료시제가 구문 파악상 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 완료시제란 'have+과거분사'형을 취하며 현재완료, 과거완료, 미래완료등 세 가지가 있다. 우리말에는 과거와 진행 및 미래 등의 의미를 나타내는 표현은 있어도 완료형을 뚜렷이 나타내는 표현은 없다. 따라서 영어의 완료형을 국역하거나 반대로 영역을 할 때는 완료형의 의미를 충분히 살리도록 주의하여야 한다.
